Paris, last day :(

We had another eventful day...this morning, we went to Montmartre and climbed up to visit Sacre Couer. It was beautiful inside the basilica, and there are great views of the city below. There was a man playing Ave Maria and other songs on his violin on the steps in front. Then we went to Espace Montmartre Salvador Dali, which was soooo amazing! A true genius. We walked around the cute town, drank cafe, and did a little shopping :) We saw the Moulin Rouge long enough to take a couple quick pictures (it's nothing really special). Next we took the metro to Cimetiere Pere Lachaise, and walked A LOT!!! Oh my achin feet! But we had to see the graves of people like Edith Piaf, Balzac, Oscar Wilde, and of course, Jim Morrison. By this time, it was getting late, so we metro'd it over to the Louvre area. We walked thru Jardins des Tuilleries, which was full of people, statues, sculptures, fountains, and gardens, hence the name. We sat and ate a crepe, tried to keep the pigeons from begging for a piece of crepe. Next was the Louvre.......oh my goodness! First goal: see the Mona Lisa, everything else secondary. We saw her behind her bulletproof glass, and even though no flash photography is allowed, the guards didn't say anything to the hundreds of people flashing away. Maybe the glass is deterrent too? We saw lots of other famous pieces like the Venus de Milo, and paintings by Vermeer, Fragonard, Boticelli, and Degas. But omg is it huge, our legs and feet felt like they were going to fall off. We leave for England in the morning, I am looking forward to speaking English!!! Bon nuit!
